S.A.S.S.I. is a support group for both men and women that
are survivors of sexual abuse/assault, incest, molestation, etc. The support
group will be facilitated by Lavinia B. Masters whom is not only specially
trained as a sexual assault victim advocate but a national and locally
recognized speaker and advocate on the subject matter. Lavinia is also a
survivor of rape herself. The idea of S.A.S.S.I. (Sexual Abuse Survivor
Support Initiative) for men and women was conceived on Friday, October 17,
2008, by the author, writer, speaker, and advocate. The purpose of the
support group will be to empower, encourage and inspire the survivors of
abuse through sharing, support and prayer. The sessions will be open for
survivors to share their stories with one another as we embark on a journey
of total healing and recovery together. The plan also includes featuring
special guest on occasion and always ending with words of encouragement and
praise reports. The S.A.S.S.I. group ultimate goals as we evolve and grow
are to hold seminars, conferences, workshops and survivor retreats as we
continue to empower all survivors of sexual abuse and allow them a safe and
faith based outlet to release the trauma that sexual abuse/assault brings. |
