	Every 2 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted. Volunteers play a vital role in providing support services to those in need, promoting the availability of resources to victims and educating the public about prevention.

	RAINN has a new tool to connect volunteers with opportunities in their own communities. With just a few clicks, visitors can learn about available opportunities at their local rape crisis centers ranging from crisis support, to helping out with office work, to education outreach, to community events or speaking opportunities. Click on one or more volunteer descriptions, fill out the web form, and the application is automatically sent to the local crisis center. Lavinia's Story

7 Steps to True Empowerment after Sexual Assault:

Learn to trust again...for there is still good in others. Psalms 27
Seek ways of self motivation and inspiration.
Learn to forgive your assailant so that you can heal properly.
Breathe again...for you are no longer a victim but now a conqueror.
